Cost estimating services to determine the more cost effective of two scenarios that encompassed a complex renovation or new construction to replace school buildings damaged by flooding. Building a new 15,668 sf facility at an estimated $4.2 million was the preferred option.

PAL (Police Activities League)
Redwood City, CA
New 15,000 gsf, two-story, steel frame, concrete slab on grade, stucco exterior building for the Redwood City Police Department. The project was designed by EDS. PAL is a non-profit community-based organization providing intervention, prevention, and alternative programs to at-risk and economically challenged youth.

Alice Fong Yu Middle School Renovation & Expansion
San Francisco, CA
Renovation and expansion of an existing, historically-significant elementary school with addition of a new 15,000 sf middle school complex to create the first Chinese language immersion school in the country. The project included three new buildings. $4 million.
ER Taylor Elementary Modernization
San Francisco, CA
Construction cost estimating services for the modernization of ER Taylor Elementary School included making the facility ADA compliant. Working with VBN Architects, MicroEstimating provided a series of estimates during the design process.
Guadalupe Elementary Modernization

Project was a modernization of the campus through 2006 Proposition A Funds. Both the site and the buildings were upgraded to health, safety, instructional, and accessibility standards. Bathrooms were fully upgraded; electrical and mechanical systems upgraded; classrooms renovated. KYA Architects. $6.9 Million.
Sunset Elementary Modular Classrooms

This new bungalow design showcases three modular classrooms in the same space. Clerestory windows provide daylighting on all four sides of each room and ample cross-ventilation.
Yick Wo Elementary Modernization

General modernization of the entire campus including ADA, fire/ life-safety and health safety upgrades, multi-purpose room addition, hazardous material remediation, site work and interiors. Architect: Kendall Young Associates. $4.5 million.

Vista Grande Elementary School
San Ramon, CA
Constructibility review for a 5–building expansion and modernization. The project consists of the renovation of four existing classroom buildings, the replacement of six portables with a new classroom building and the addition of a 7,000 sf new multi–purpose building with a stage/classroom, kitchen, storage, and support facilities. This building and entry serves as a new campus gateway. Construction of the project was phased to minimize disruption to the campus.
